  • Maryanne Middler

    Manager/Early Years Lead Practitioner

    Hi, I am Maryanne Middler and the I am the Playgroup Manager. My qualifications include an SVQ level 2 and 3 in Early Years Care and Education, an HNC in Social Sciences and an SVQ level 4 in Management. Currently I am working towards my BA in Childhood Practice. I have worked in a variety of Early Years settings and have 5 children of my own. I work on a Monday and Thursday.

  • Carol Evans

    Acting Assistant Early Years Lead Practitioner

    Carol joined Torphins Playgroup in February 2017. She has 2 children of her own and has previous experience of working with the Playgroup as both the Treasurer and the Chairperson. She has decided to take on the new challenge of joining the front of house team and is looking forward to progressing with her new career and gaining a Childcare qualification. I work on a Wednesday and Thursday.

    Early Years Practitioner

    I joined the Torphins Playgroup team in October 2018 when my daughter Elle turned two and started attending, I loved the setting so much I knew I wanted to be more involved. I have a degree in Education and have worked as a primary teacher in both the UK and Canada. I also have degrees in Kinesiology and in Psychology. I am currently on maternity leave.

    Early Years Practitioner

    I’m originally from Russia and received my teaching and language qualifications at the Bashkir State University, Russia. Currently I’m working on my SVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education. In my free time I like cycling, gardening and watching my son Alex playing ice-hockey. Alex used to attend Torphins Playgroup and have lots of fond moments to remember, and now I’m very happy to join the playgroup’s lovely community on a Monday and Wednesday.

    My qualifications include a SVQ level 2 and 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education and I have over 19 years experience caring for children in various childcare settings. I have 3 children of my own and very much look forward to working with the children at playgroup on a Monday,Wednesday and Thursday.

Hello, I’m Helen Crouch and I am employed by Aberdeenshire Council as a Development Worker for Early Years settings in the local area. I advise and support the staff, helping them make improvement plans so they can provide a quality service to parents and children. I visit Torphins Playgroup several times a year, often helping out in the sessions.

Hello, my name is June Foote and I am the Early Years Principal Teacher. I have been appointed by Aberdeenshire Council to support staff in local Playgroups and Nurseries with curriculum development and I also work directly with the children to identify learning needs and to add challenge. I visit Torphins Playgroup two or three times a term.
